Beyond Earth Day arts and crafts! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who put in the hard work to make the beautiful displays to represent our club as well as a low-waste lifestyle. No arts and crafts session is complete without music, so thank you to our personal DJ's as well for making club meetings such a party :)
Composting Update
Composting is going great, keep up the hard work everybody! Green Office Initiative The club is beginning the process to take the Green Office Initiative test to see how green CEOAS is. This is a project that needs a lot of club participation to help complete it. Volunteers are splitting up into groups to tackle different sections. Talk to Alec if you would like to sign up to be in one of the groups. Important Dates April 4-25th - Drawdown Challenge April 22nd - Earth Day April 28th - Nature Break Hike (Location and Time TBD) May 6th - Service Project May 25-28th - Camping Trip @ Gull Point Campground in Central Oregon June 7th - Documentary Night June 9th - Spring Picnic- celebrate the year, tie-dye party for merch, pot luck Beyond Earth Day On April 24 there is a Beyond Earth Day Event on campus at the SEC Plaza. It is a community wide event where are club will have a booth from 1:30-3:00. Our booth will be an interactive booth about a minimal waste lifestyle focused on students living on and off campus. If you would like to sign up to help with the booth on that day, make sure to let us know. Guest Speaker Thank you to Peter Clark for coming to the club and talking about the IPPC and his role in the IPPC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). He was an author for the chapter about sea level changes during the 93rd international body assessing the climate change among 195 countries. Some major headlines from the book that he showed the club were: ice sheets and glaciers are losing mass, the ocean has warmed and the sea level has risen, warming in the climate system is unequivocal, human influence on the climate system is clear, etc. |
