First Outing of the Year!
The club left around 9 am on Saturday and spent the day in Newport. They spent the day doing different fun activities around the Newport area. Keep your eye out for the next club outing! Corvallis Clean The Corvallis Clean Club has invited the Environmental Science Club to come help clean up Riverfront Park on Oct. 22! Corvallis Clean has a new sponsor called LoveBottles where they donate beautifully decorated glass bottles to people in the community as well as to students who participate in 5 Corvallis cleanups. If you are interested in going to a cleanup event, check out their website corvalliscleanosu.weebly.com . Bring a friend, a coworker, or a classmate and get out their to make Corvallis a cleaner community for all of us! Don’t have a way to get to the cleanup? Don’t worry about it- they carpool students to the cleanups! Make a Difference Day Make a Difference Day is a nationwide day whose purpose is to improve the lives of those around you and was held on Oct. 28 for students on campus. There is limited space on the events so do not forget to sign up at sli.oregonstate.edu/cce/makeadifference . Global Issue Discussion Don’t miss out on next week’s Global Issue Discussion! Coral will be giving an amazing presentation on carbon pricing. If you missed out, be sure to check out our Facebook page for live streams of our GID’s. Composting Update We are currently working on getting the bins to begin the composting project. We are also trying to work out a way to advertise that we are composting so more people can participate.
