March for Science April 22nd
Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day!) both the city of Corvallis and Portland are marching for science. This is not a club event but if you’re interested in celebrating science and supporting scientific resources this would be an impactful way to celebrate Earth Day! Beyond Earth Day Community Fair April 25th
The environmental sciences club will be hosting a booth at the Beyond Earth Day Community Fair in the SEC Plaza. At the booth we will have information about the club and have a composting demonstration/information. Corvallis, Walk for Water May 20th
A couple meetings ago Dr. Becker came in and asked us if we would like to volunteer for the Walk for Water. The Walk for Water event will occur in Corvallis to help raise awareness and money for the Corvallis Sister Cities Association relationship with Gondar, Ethiopia. Trask River Campground May 27th – 29th
Memorial day weekend the environmental sciences club will be camping at the Trask River Campground in Tillamook OR. If you are wanting to come on the trip there will be a separate meeting to figure out carpools, food and gear.National Get Our doors Day June 3rdThe OSU Research Forest contacted the club asking if we were interested in volunteering in the National Get Outdoors Day! The event needs a variety of volunteers to work with kids and families in order to get them more comfortable being outdoors! Types of volunteer include, photographer, booth exhibitor, parking and traffic, outdoor community art project. The event is on Saturday June 3rd from 10am – 3 pm. We will further discuss if this is an event well do as a group, but if you’re really interested and want to sign up immediately email firstname.lastname@example.org for a registration link.
Movie Night June 8th
Like every term before, the meeting before finals week we will be having a movie break! The movie will be announced on when we get closer to the end of the term.
End of Year Picnic June 10th
Look forward to the end of the year picnic to celebrate all of our accomplishments we’ve completed as a club! As time gets closer we will have more details.
Sally is working with local print shops to get us club t-shirts! We aim to have then either at the camping trip or at the picnic. Unfortunately, if you want a shirt each person will have to buy their own, but shirts should be about $10 maybe a little more.
